Making changes to your salary deduction

If you work for an eligible employer, it's simple to get started. Check here for more information on which companies we do salary deduction with.

New members

  1. Visit our main page to apply for Membership or a Loan
  2. As part of the application process, we'll ask for details of your employer, as well as some information such as your payroll and national insurance number, which we can use to identify you
  3. We'll then take care of the rest and contact your employer to get the salary deduction set up. No details of any loans or borrowing will be shared with them

Existing members

If you are already a member with us and wish to start saving with the salary deduction, please send us via online banking a secure message or email us the details such as your name, surname, membership number, your employer's name and the amount of payroll deduction, so we can set it up for you.

Changing or cancelling

If you already have a salary deduction set up and need to make changes, you can contact us to increase, decrease or cancel it. 

To request changes, please contact us via online banking secure messages or email us at help@creditunion.co.uk with your membership number and details of what changes you'd like to make.

Please note that changes may take up to one pay cycle to take effect, depending on when you contact us in relation to your employer's payroll processing schedule.

When will money be credited?

The funds get credited to your account once we receive a schedule and money from your employer, not when you get paid. It can take from a couple of weeks to one month. It depends on the employer you work for.
