Becoming a member while living overseas

To be eligible to join London Mutual Credit Union, you need to be a UK resident with a UK home address.

Armed forces members

Members in the UK armed forces who are currently deployed or temporarily based overseas can also join and access our services at any time, including during their deployment, by entering a BFPO postcode as their home address.

Why do we need a UK address

We require a UK residential address because we need to verify your identity and ensure we can provide our services effectively. This helps us comply with UK financial regulations and protect both you and other members.

If you're planning to move to the UK

If you're currently overseas but planning to move to the UK, you'll need to wait until you have a confirmed UK address before you can apply for membership. Once you're settled in the UK, we'll be happy to welcome you as a member as long as you meet our Eligibility Criteria

Getting help

If you have questions about eligibility or need clarification about your specific situation, please contact us and we'll be happy to discuss your circumstances and explain your options.
