As a member of London Mutual Credit Union, you enjoy unique rights that distinguish you from typical bank customers. Understanding these rights helps you make the most of your membership and participate fully in our cooperative community.
Your voting rights
You have the right to vote on important decisions and elect the Board of Directors that oversees credit union operations. Each member receives one vote regardless of savings balance, ensuring everyone has an equal voice in our democratic process. You can attend our Annual General Meeting , where we review performance and make collective decisions about our future. We'll notify you in advance with details on participation.
Your right to information and fair treatment
You're entitled to transparency about your credit union's performance and can request access to annual accounts and important documents. You also have the right to ask questions about our services and decision-making processes. We're committed to treating you fairly and respectfully, considering your circumstances when making loan or service decisions. All members receive equal treatment regardless of background.
Your protection
Your savings are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £120,000 per person. This limit increased from December 1, 2025. We're regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to ensure fair treatment and proper conduct. If you believe you haven't been treated fairly, you have the right to make a complaint, which we'll investigate thoroughly and respond to promptly.
