We understand that life's plans can change. Sometimes, that means parting ways. If you've decided to close your membership account with us, we want to make the process as smooth as possible for you.
For those enrolled in our online banking system, simply log in and send us a secure message requesting the closure of your membership account. We'll take care of the rest.
If you don't have access to online banking, you don't have to worry. You can still close your account by sending an email to accounts@creditunion.co.uk. Please include the following information in your email:
- Your full name
- Postal address
- Member number
- Specify whether you want to cancel your entire credit union membership or just one of your accounts.
Additionally, let us know where you'd like any remaining funds in your account(s) to be transferred. If you're registered for online banking, please transfer all funds before emailing us. We can only transfer the remaining balance to an external account already registered in our system.
Once your membership is fully closed, we'll send you a confirmation via email or response to your message sent via Online Banking. If we require any further information from you to complete the process, we'll include it in that email.
