From July 2024, we are phasing out sending text message (SMS) notifications to you each time you spend money on your debit card or have a transaction on your account. From this point, these notifications will be sent via our mobile app.
How it currently works
You currently receive an SMS text message from us each time you spend money using your card.
What is changing and why
From mid-July 2024, we will no longer send card transaction notifications via SMS text message. To continue receiving updates on your card payments, download and install the mobile banking app.
Once you are logged in to the app, your phone may ask you to give permission to send Push Notifications.
When will I get notifications?
Each time you spend money on your debit card, or money arrives or leaves your account you'll see a notification pop up on your phone, alongside those from other apps. You need to be connected to mobile internet for these notifications.
We'll continue to send SMS text messages to help you authorise transactions and OTP codes for online payments or when registering or logging in to a new device.
What do I need to do?
- If the mobile app has already been downloaded and installed on your phone, you don't need to update it to the newest version. To allow push notifications to come through, you need to:
Go to 'Tools' - Click on 'Push Notifications Setting' - Click on 'Allow' - If you are registered but haven't currently got the app installed, download it from the Apple app Store or Google Play. You'll then be able to log in using the details you set up when you originally registered. You can also reset them if you've forgotten them.
How do I reset my Online Banking Login details? - If you've never registered for online banking before but still want to get notifications, don't worry! You only need to register once, which takes 5-10 minutes.
